"Wait," Sunny's eyes widened. "you can see ghosts? How? You're only a girl, you can't be," - realization struck him – "oh, so you're a child of Hades."
Abrasively, the son of Khione backed away from the girl named Elizabeth, a look of distinctive fear on his face. Suddenly being aware of what he was doing, his cheeks flushed and he muttered a brief apology.
"Sorry," the son of Khione murmured, "I'm just... afraid of things unknown to me like ghost-seeing people and all - I mean, not you but your, um, ability to see dead people. You get what I mean?" Something heavy then settled into his chest as a lump formed in his throat, and Sun felt the composure of the world begin to deteriorate. Dammit, he scolded himself, That wasn't what I meant. Sun's stronger, crueler self began to surface as his confidence was crippled by embarrassment and the weight of his wrongly chosen words.
"I'm Artisan."
Resisting the urge to grimace, Sun forced the corners of his lips into a strained grin. It was the Hephaestus kid Sunny always saw running around camp. Honestly, Sunny didn't dislike the kid, but being in such a close range with him made Sunny tense. Perhaps it was the fact that Artisan's fluent tongue in Korean reminded him of his father's smooth, dagger words in the native language. He hated hearing it. And another reason would be the fact that Khione children naturally repelled themselves from heat which in this case was Artisan's "inner-flame". However, that reason didn't bother Sun as much as the reminder of his father, whom Sun was so glad to get away from. Being reminded of the monster that raised him made Sunny cringe slightly. It was like his father was still around, a phantom in Sun's memory that won't go away.
Stand your ground, Sunny.
Thank you for concerning yourself about me, Artisan,” Sun, unknowingly, bowed his head and immediately blushed. “I’m Sun Choi—or Sunny.” He straightened his posture so that his eyes were making contact with both the girl and boy. “I’m extremely antisocial, so please be patient with me. Sorry for the inconveniences.”
If only he had stayed in the cabins. [/blockquote]
