The magnificent land of Scotland. It had always have magic and mistisism. Its highlands were well known around the world and its joyful people too. Edimburg was a modern city and in some places you could still see the few reminescences from when the ancient roman legions got that far, but there weren't a lot of them, rome couldn't get that up North, britania was one of the only places that couldn't be completely conquered by the almighty Rome.
"This is a very small, fishing town, but I used to call it home..."
Said the voice of a young woman, she wouldn't be older than 16 or 17 years old. She was wearing a long white t-shirt with a rose in the front. her long brunette hair was kind of being messed by the wind of the small Island. She looked at the guy who was by her side. He was tall as a building, she was at least a foot shorter than he was, still his eyes showed so much peace and gentleness. "why shouldn't I dressed up better! I must look like a rebellious lass instead of a lady!" she thought and sighed when she was smiling at him. she half blushed but looked away to the beautiful marina at their left.
Both of them shouldn't have been there, their lives were in danger at every step they made in that place, they were demigods and their heads had a price in the markets of the monsters and mythical creatures of the world. But Beth, wich was the name of the girl, wanted to check on her mother, she wanted to see if she was ok, and also was homesick, she wanted to see her old home place. so she used her ability to travel among shadows and the man next to her, Alistair, decided to go with her.
She didn't want him to get hurt again, but she was thankful for his company. So after he convinced her to go with her, they got into a shadow and then got to Scotland, the Isle of Mull. Shadow traveling drained her energy and traveling with someone was even worst. So as soon as they got there she had to sit on a rock and rest for a moment. her forehead was covered with sweat and dark marks were below her eyes.
"do you... like it?" A weak smile crossed her always pale face.

Being pulled through the shadows was neauseating. But after all, Alistair did volunteer to come through with her, with Beth, to check up on her mom. Alistair felt compelled to keep her safe and be her sword and shield. Alistair would do everything in his power to keep her safe and to make sure that the DCA and any monsters would be detered by the son of Arete. He was the child of a minor goddess after all and they didn't attract as many monsters as someone like Beth would. She was a daughter of Hades. Alistair knew that she could very well take care of herself. But he was the man and he was a protector, so he would take care of her, that's what he would do.
Where they came out was a rather beautiful place. He was surprised at how beautiful it was. Alistair grew up in England and had never visited Scotland despite how close it was to his home. Maybe after this, they could check up on his great-aunt. She had been rather depressed teh day that Alistair left, right after his great uncle died. She probably was rather lonely and a bit down. MAybe he could cheer her up with a small visit. Alistair knew they would have to be careful. They didn't want to anger anyone or be caught by anything undesirable.
"You alright?" Alistair asked with concern. The shadow travel probably took a good bit out of her. "you shouldn't expend so much energy, do you need some food? Anything to drink? Any thing I can get you?" Alistair rapidly shot questions at her. He wanted to make sure that Beth was alright. He worried about her.

As Beth was sitting on that rock, she heard the birds singing and the sound that the trees made when the winds passed through their leaves. Also the sound of the sea, how the waves went and came back crushing on the land of rough sand. Everything there was peaceful, she just hoped everything would continue that way, she wished no creature had already got her scent. She wouldn't want to disturb the peace of that place and even less put Alistair's life in danger one more time.
Alistair asked if she was alright. She looked at him and slightly frowned. She had no mirror in that moment, she didn't know how bad she looked so at the beginning she didn't understand. but then when he told her not to consume so much energy and if she needed anything, she lifted her hand and wiped the sweat drops from her forehead.
She bit her lower lip and smiled, then looked at him and shook her head slowly. "oh Gods... I must look like a deathly ill person!" She said kind of worried, not for her but him. He looked so worried about her. She lifted her other hand and held his hand in her delicate one. "I just need a second and some chocolate... I have some in my bag" Smiles as she uses her other hand to put her bag on her lap and looked for the chocolate.
After some seconds she found two bars of it and pulled them from her bag. "I found them!" smiles widely and offers Alistar one of them. "do you want one?" maybe she was weak, but she wasn't going to let that erase her smile from her face or glooms her day with Alistair! She started eating one of the bars and soon she felt much better. her face got her usual pale and no dark marks under her eyes anymore.
